Ebbw Fawr school is reportedly on lockdown due to a police incident.

A school in South Wales is reportedly on lockdown due to a police incident.

Children are believed to be locked in classrooms while officers rush to Ebbw Fawr school, in Ebbw Vale today.

A message believed to have been sent by the school to parents and carers has been posted on social media, stating the school "is in a partial lockdown situation".

They added that "police have arrived" with "all students safe in classrooms". 

The school is split in two - primary and secondary - and it is believed both schools are closed. Express.co.uk has contacted the school and police for more details.

Police have been called to a school in Ebbw Vale, South Wales.

Ebbw Fawr secondary and primary buildings have been locked down, with children "safe inside classrooms".

Both school buildings have been shut, with the school confirming to parents they are on lockdown.
