presented with a "rare honour" before she stepped down from her senior royal duties in the Firm, a royak expert has claimed.

Former BBC royal correspondent Michael Cole told GBN America that things went "so badly wrong" for Meghan.

During the conversation, he brought up Meghan's tense relationship with her own family, notably her "estranged" father, Thomas Markle.

He said: "It's really hard to puzzle where it all went so badly wrong.

"She could not have been welcomed more into this country or the Royal Family."

In what he termed as a "rare honour", the King offered to walk Meghan down the aisle "because of her estranged relationship with her father and most family members".

"That was a great honour, and the late Queen went out of her way to make a friend of Doria, her mother," he said.

Since stepping away from her royal duties and relocating to America in 2020, Meghan's appearances in the UK have been few and far between.

The Duchess has openly criticised her treatment as a member of the royalty while Harry voiced his complaints in his memoir, Spare.
