A North West-based construction company has filed for administration. M&J Builders, based in Oldham, has appointed Craig Johns and Jason Mark Elliott of Cowgills Limited, Bolton, as administrators, The Gazette reports. The builders offer several services, including building work, strip and demolition, ground works, diamond drilling, concrete cutting and roofing.

On the construction company’s website, it says: “With many years experience in all aspects of building works and groundworks M&J Builders have become a reputable and recognised building contractor in the construction industry. We are a self-sufficient, reliable, family-run business, specialising in making your project easier.

“Based in North West England, over the years we have gained a reputation as a dynamic organisation who repeatedly complete contracts to the satisfaction of our customers with integrity, performance and value.”

It adds that the business was self-funded and sustainable, undertaking contracts of varying nature and value across all construction sectors.

It adds “Our professional and highly experienced management team ensure works are carried on to the satisfaction of our clients at all times.

“We also carry £10m Employers Liability and £5m Public Liability insurances, plus all relevant industry accreditations.”

This comes after another construction company, Kilmarnock-based Alastair Dick Tarmac Ltd, also filed for administration after more than a decade in business.

Construction activity declined at a faster pace in February than in January, according to the latest Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) data.
