Prince Harry will be celebrating an important milestone without a single member of the Royal Family by his side - but one royal commentator says he has “no-one else to blame.”

The Duke of Sussex is returning to the UK on Wednesday, May 8 to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Invictus Games, his passion project which champions wounded servicemen and women.

But UK monarchy expert Jennie Bond - who was the BBC’s royal correspondent for 14 years - has given her own take on the situation, saying that the fact he will be at the service without any other Royal Family members is a “graphic illustration” of what he and wife Duchess Meghan have unleashed on them.

She said: “He’s here to celebrate the Invictus Games… and rightly so, it is a great achievement,” reports OK!.

“But how telling it will be to see him there without a single member of the royal family present to salute his achievement. It will be a graphic illustration of what he has done to the family he still professes to love.”

And, says Ms Bond, Harry can’t point the finger at anyone else for the situation.

She added: "There must be a part of him now that profoundly regrets the rift he and Meghan have caused… he has no-one else to blame.”

It’s been reported that the Duke of Sussex will also fit in a meeting with his father King Charles - but not his brother and sister in law Prince William and Princess Catherine.

One royal commentator says that before his wife Meghan, 42, and their children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, two, join them on a trip it’s crucial that trust is rebuilt, reports MailOnline.

Richard Fitzwilliams, an expert on the royal family, thinks Meghan and the couple’s children could join him on a future visit but that Harry will have to rebuild the family's trust after attacking key members of the Firm - including in is autobiography Spare and on the pair’s Oprah interview.

Mr Fitzwilliams said about the potential reunion between father and son that he’s “not surprised,” reports MailOnline.

He said: “But what has happened, of course, a relatively short period ago, we had (controversial memoir) Spare at the beginning of last year and attacks on the royal family in the interviews he gave to promote it. A lot of it was very, very unwise.

“But the Sussexes have just beefed up their communications team with two new appointments and I think that is significant, because I think that they are paying more attention now to their PR, something they wouldn't (have considered before).”

He added: “'The difficulty they now have is that they have to be trusted if they are going to build, or rebuild bridges, because I don't think members of the royal family will trust the Sussexes.”
