Dan Wootton slams online trolls after Kate's announcement
A royal historian has lashed out at all the conspiracy theorists as well as celebrities who dished out rumours on the Princess of Wales's health just as Prince Harry was seen to have extended an olive branch to his brother, Prince William, and his sister-in-law, following her shock cancer diagnosis.
Princess Kate sent shockwaves around the world on Friday evening as she announced she had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer, after weeks of wild speculation surrounding her well-being and whereabouts, following her abdominal surgery back in January.
Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to have "reached out" to the Prince and Princess of Wales "privately" shortly after releasing a public statement on the same day which said: "We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace."
Now royal biographer Hugo Vickers blasted all those who "went in big time" in the last few days after several celebrities came out and apologised following the future queen's announcement.
He told the Sun: "It says an awful lot about the mindset of these people. The high profile ones, but also the very irresponsible members of the general public who just sort of weighed in as well. I think quite simply, they should be feeling very ashamed of themselves. I think quite a few people have popped up and apologised, and rightly so."
