Royal Family LIVE: Meghan and Harry's Nigeria trip signals couple want to go 'royal way'

Speaking of the upcoming trip in News.com.au, royal commentator, Daniela Elser said: "What the last four years also reflects is their willingness to continue to 'royal’ away at things despite the late Queen attempting to have put her foot down about separating the commercial and the quasi-official."

Meghan and Harry decided to step down as senior working royals in 2020 but the key point of the agreement, set by the late Queen Elizabeth II was that there was no 'half in, half out' option - you either stay as a full-time working member of the Royal Family or you leave.

Ms Elser added: "They don’t seem to have quite worked out how to truly divorce their new philanthropic careers where they can be as bold and creative as they fancy and instead seem to routinely fall back on the old palace playbook, albeit under the Sussex banner."

Meanwhile, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) expressed their excitement about the upcoming Royal visit on April 28, revealing that the Sussexes are expected to meet with Service members and partake in various cultural activities during their stay.

Beforehand, Prince Harry has already announced his attendance at the Invictus Games' 10th anniversary celebration on May 8, at St. Paul's Cathedral in London, with no mention of Meghan accompanying him. Despite this, it is understood that the Duchess will join her husband for his West Africa trip, choosing to bypass the UK visit.
