Princess Charlotte will no doubt be celebrating with her family and friends today as she marks turning nine.

Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana was born at 8.34am on May 2, 2015 at St Mary's Hospital in London, the location of many royal births over the years.

She joined her older brother Prince George, who was born on July 22, 2013, with the youngest member of the clan Prince Louis later arriving on April 23, 2018.

Ever since her birth Charlotte has become one of the most popular members of the , with fans delighted whenever they get to see her during a royal occasion or outing.

Princess Charlotte watches Wimbledon

Princess Charlotte was born on May 2, 2015 in London, the second child and only daughter of Princess Kate and Prince William, who were then better known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Ever since her arrival Charlotte has delighted royal watchers with her antics, as she has begun to appear at more and more royal events as she gets older.

Kate and William hold newborn Charlotte

Princess Kate and Prince William looked absolutely thrilled to be standing on the steps of the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s with their newborn daughter on May 2, 2015.

Her birth was celebrated across the capital with gun salutes, and many famous landmarks were lit up in pink.

Little Prince George also came to the hospital to meet his baby sister.

Princess Kate holds baby Charlotte

Princess Charlotte was christened on July 5, 2015 at St Mary Magdalene Church on the Sandringham estate, with the service carried out by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby.

Her names were chosen in honour of three senior members of the Royal Family - her grandfather then-Prince Charles, her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth, and her late grandmother Princess Diana.

The family stayed at Anmer Hall in Norfolk after her birth, later relocating to Kensington Palace in 2017.

Kate holds little Charlotte in Canada

Just a year after her birth Charlotte joined her parents and older brother George on a royal tour in Canada.

She later also came with them when they toured Germany and Poland, in spite of her young age.

Now Charlotte and her brothers tend not to go with their parents on royal tours due to them being at school full-time.

The Cambridge family visit Germany

During the then-Cambridge's family tour to Germany, little Charlotte took a tumble and had to be comforted by her mum Kate.

At this time she was officially known as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, however after Queen Elizabeth’s death in September 2022 this changed.

Her father Prince William became Prince of Wales, leading to her title changing to Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Wales.
