Prince William to cheer on England in Euros clash against Denmark without Prince George

Prince William, who serves as president of the Football Association, is in Frankfurt, Germany, among thousands of England fans, cheering on the country as they play Denmark in the second group stage game of the Euros - but this time, without his son, Prince George.

During the visit, William offered the team hilarious advice from his youngest son, Prince Louis, and the young royal had urged the Three Lions to eat double portions ahead of the matches to help them storm to victory.

Speaking with the team, Prince William said: "I was on the school run this morning and I asked [the kids] 'What should I say to the England team today?'

Being a huge fan of the sport, William has also taken George with him to watch his beloved Aston Villa play at Villa Park where the home time triumphed over Lille OSC in the Europa Conference League.

William was just 23 when he took on the role of FA president and one of his first duties was to attend the 2006 World Cup in Germany that summer.

Prince William did not attend the World Cup in 2022, which was held in Qatar, citing a busy schedule. He was also criticised for not going to watch the England women's football team, the Lionesses, when they reached the World Cup final in Australia last year. His role as FA president covers both England men's and women's sides.

So far in 2024, William has understandably reduced his overseas travel following his wife Kate, the Princess of Wales's cancer diagnosis.

England supporters have travelled in huge numbers to Germany for the tournament which kicked off last Friday and ends on Sunday, July 14.

England’s 1-0 win in their first game against Serbia, while group rivals Denmark and Slovenia could only draw, means they already top the group. Victory against Denmark would see them through to the last 16, with one group game still left to play.
