Prince Louis is likely getting excited as he is just days away from a very special moment in the royal calendar. The young prince, seven, has been tipped to accompany his parents, Prince William and Princess Kate, to the annual Trooping the Colour celebrations this Saturday.

Louis will surely be expected to appear in a carriage alongside mum Kate, 43, and his two siblings, Prince George, 11, and Princess Charlotte, 10. Prince William, 42, will not join his family in a carriage, and will instead be on horseback in the procession, which takes place each year to mark the monarch’s official birthday. After the parade and procession, the royals will gather on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, where they will watch a Red Arrows flypast - and it is this which is expected to be a highlight for young Louis.

During previous balcony appearances, Louis has always seemed impressed by the Red Arrows, and is often seen getting excited during the flypast.

At Trooping the Colour last year, Louis seemed in awe at the flypaster, with lipreader Juliet Sullivan telling the Daily Mail that the the little Prince said: “Papa, papa, papa look at all that colour!”

It seems the young royal made a similar remark just a month ago when he stepped out on the balcony with his family for the VE Day 80th anniversary celebrations.

As reported by GB News, lip-reading expert Nicola Hickling reported that Louis said “that’s my favourite” as the jets approached.

The young prince then reportedly said “look at all of the colours” as red, white, and blue smoke trails filled the sky.

While Louis’ older brother Prince George also has an interest in planes, and appears to have plenty of knowledge of them too, it seems to be Louis that wants to take to the skies in the future as a potential career when he’s older.

When appearing at a Scout Hut with his family over the King’s Coronation weekend in 2023 to undertake some volunteering, the young prince was asked whether he would want to become a painter.

He was quick to respond: "No, a fighter pilot.”
