Prince Harry has been warned he could be in a "world of trouble" as the row over his US visa application continues to rumble on.

In his tell-all memoir Spare, the Duke of Sussex spoke openly about his past drugs use before moving to the US in 2020. However, this admission could have stopped him from entering the US as applicants are required to disclose such information.

A legal challenge is now being led by Washington-based conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation, which is pushing for Joe Biden's Department of Homeland Security to release details of the visa application.

Earlier this week, Donald Trump told Nigel Farage on GB News that "appropriate action" would be taken if Harry lied to authorities before making the move stateside and recently hinted in an exclusive interview with Daily Express US he could deport the Duke of Sussex if he is re-elected.

Reacting to this week's interview, GB News host Patrick Christys said: "He’s potentially in a world of trouble actually, isn’t he really, because if he has lied about his drug use on his visa form then frankly he will have to be treated like everybody else.

Trump told Farage in an interview broadcast on Tuesday: "We’ll have to see if they know something about the drugs, and if he lied they’ll have to take appropriate action."

Speaking to Daily Express US last month, the former US president also hinted if he is re-elected president later this year, Harry may face deportation from the US.

Trump said he was furious at the Joe Biden administration for “protecting Harry” by keeping his immigration application confidential.

He warned: "I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own if it was down to me."

Harry and Meghan stepped down as working members of the Royal Family in early 2020 before relocating permanently to the former actress’ home state of California later that year.

They currently live on a Montecito estate in Santa Barbara with their two children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.

Last month, Harry told Good Morning America about living in the US: "It’s amazing. I love every single day.

"The American citizenship is a thought that has crossed my mind, but certainly is not something that is a high priority for me right now."
