Prince Harry has touched down in the UK ahead of his appearance at a special thanksgiving service to celebrate a decade of the Invictus Games.

He arrived in London without his wife Meghan Markle or their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, after hopping on a 10 hour flight from Los Angeles to Heathrow earlier on Tuesday.

Harry is understood to have various Invictus Games commitments today.

It marks the first time Harry has been back to the UK since his whirlwind trip in February, where he rushed to see King Charles after his cancer diagnosis was made public. Father and son met briefly at Clarence House before Harry jetted back to the US.

The Express reported last week that the pair are expected to meet while Harry is back on UK soil, though it rests on whether the King is able to clear some time his diary.

The King returned to public-facing duties last week for the first time since his cancer diagnosis. He marked his return by visiting fellow cancer patients in a London hospital and is expected to return to a more folesome schedule over the coming weeks and months.

But a meeting between father and son will only be brief, due to the King's jam-packed schedule.

He is expected to attend a Buckingham Palace garden party tomorrow, but his attendance has yet to be confirmed.

Queen Camilla is unlikely to join Charles and Harry if they do have time to meet however.

“Let’s just say that the Queen might be otherwise engaged,” the source said. “Although the King will have time in his dairy for a brief visit, that hasn’t been confirmed yet due to the garden party schedule. Even if Harry does meet with his father, it is highly unlikely that Camilla will be in the same room.”

Harry launched the Invictus Games, a sport event for military personnel wounded in action, in 2014 and is due to give a reading at the thanksgiving service at St Paul's Cathedral tomorrow. Actor Damian Lewis will also be in attendance to recite a poem.

The ceremony will mark "a decade of changing lives and saving lives through sport," a spokesperson for the Games said.
