Officials have identified the four soldiers who died in a massive wildfire at an Alberta military base.
They are: Sgt. Morgan Wong, Pvt. Shaun Farrell, Pvt. Aida Goulding and Pvt. Hayden Lykkemark.
They were among scores of soldiers injured Saturday afternoon during training at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright, east of Edmonton.
They were training while a grass fire was burning a kilometre or so away.
Maj.-Gen. Wade Rutland says the fire was felt to be far enough away and contained so that training could continue.
However, he says violent winds suddenly kicked up, sending the fire barrelling toward the soldiers in 30 seconds and overwhelming them.
