Farage 'blames' the West for pushing Russia to invade Ukraine
Nigel Farage has been blasted by Panorama viewers after doubling down on his stance on climate change, having previously labelled King Charles III a “stupid eco-loony”.
The Reform UK leader, 60, was grilled by presenter Nick Robinson, who brought up the comments Farage made in 2021, a year before the King’s coronation.
“The King, he wasn't the King then, and I can't speak ill of the monarch obviously…” he replied in Friday night’s BBC programme.
“He did used to say that carbon dioxide was a pollutant which I thought was a very stupid comment.”
Farage then claimed the King was “not arguing the science" and suggested "ever since the late 1980s that perhaps there's been a bit of hype around [climate change]".

“No wonder we've got people spraying Stonehenge with orange powder, because all we ever talk about is fear rather than solutions,” he added.
His controversial position on climate change sparked division amongst Panorama viewers, while others questioned his decision to criticise the King if he hopes to become Prime Minister at the next General Election.
“Criticising the King, who currently has cancer, doesn't seem like a good idea from Farage,” one X (formerly Twitter) user said.

“He's calling the King an idiot, and trying to sell out Ukraine to Putin. Nigel Farage is no patriot,” another viewer commented.
“I can't see #Farage being welcome at the palace any time soon after calling the King an eco-looney (sic),” a third mused.
One viewer responded to his comments on climate change with a video of recent flooding in Switzerland.
“Just watching Nigel Farage dismissing proper climate action on TV as these pictures from Switzerland hit my timeline,” they said. “He really is quite the imbecile.”

Another simply said: “scientifically illiterate moron.” And another added: “The mans a bafoon.” (sic)
While others defended Farage, with one fan saying: “Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant - plants and trees need it to stay alive. Nigel is right.”
“And again nigel is correct,” another said. “Co2 is life on earth.”
Though another user pointed out: “It’s relative though, isn’t it? Excessive CO2 is death on earth.”
