Meghan Markle to skip Prince Harry's UK trip - as expert predicts her next return

Meghan Markle will likely not return to the UK with Prince Harry for his reported trip later this year. The 40-year-old will likely travel to the UK for the WellChild Awards in September - with experts suggesting that he could also use the trip to reconnect with his father, King Charles.

The King's Communications Secretary and Harry's new US-based PR chief were recently photographed on a club terrace - which later sparked speculation of potential "peace talks" regarding the monarch and his youngest son.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams has suggested that Meghan Markle will likely leave the return this year to Harry - and opt to remain in the US with their children - Prince Archie, six, and four-year-old Princess Lilibet - whilst her husand travels overseas.

Speaking to the Express, Mr Fitzwilliams said: "Meghan is most emphatically not expected to be with Harry when he visits Britain in September.

"However, the so called "secret meeting" between King Charles's Communications Secretary and two of the Sussexes most senior aides obviously occurred with her full backing. We do not know who leaked it to the press."

He has revealed, however, that the next time Meghan could return to the UK is for the Invictus Games in 2027.

Speaking of the event, which will take place in Birmingham between July 10 and 17, he added: "She will, of course, be expected to attend in Birmingham, not to do so would be a public humiliation."

The meeting between the King and Harry's aides has been described as an "informal drink" rather than a formal negotiation after it was speculated that Harry and Meghan Markle had been behind the leaking of details of the meeting.

This has since been strongly denied by Meghan and Harry.

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday recently, a source said: "There's a long road ahead, but a channel of communication is now open for the first time in years. There was no formal agenda, just casual drinks. There were things both sides wanted to talk about."

Although Harry has made numerous trips to the UK since stepping down from royal duties in 2020, Meghan has not visited Britain since September 2022.
