A crash on the M20 has sparked travel chaos with traffic queuing and diversions in place. The route has been partially closed after a car struck the central reservation near Maidstone, with the west-bound carriageway shut between J6 and J5 near the town.

Traffic officers from National Highways have been at the scene, working to clear the aftermath. They are helping with traffic management, with motorists warned to allow extra journey time.

A spokesperson said: "If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to reroute or even delay your journey."
