British drivers are facing severe two-hour delays after a horror crash on the M1 this evening. Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a serious collision on the major UK motorway.
It is not yet known whether there have been any casualties as a result of the incident.
A post on the National Highways website reads: "There are currently severe delays of two hours to normal journey times on the M1 northbound in Hertfordshire/Greater London between J2 Five Ways Corner Interchange and J5 Berrygrove Interchange (Watford A4008, Aylesbury A41).
"This is due to a serious collision involving 3 cars, closing 2 lanes (of 3) between J4 Brockley Interchange and J5. Hertfordshire Police, Fire & Rescue and London Ambulance Service have units on scene. National Highways Traffic Officers are also attending. Road users are strongly urged to plan ahead, if heading that way, and consider alternate routes (if possible)."
