An earlier trespass incident at Ealing Broadway station has left a number of trains severely delayed, causing chaos for commuters.

Commuters travelling out of London Paddington train station this evening (March 25) are facing 'major disruption' until at least 9pm after a trespasser on the railway line left trains cancelled and delayed.

Great Western Railway services and Elizabeth line services are currently delayed up to 20 minutes, following the trespass incident at Ealing Broadway station.

In a statement on their website, National Rail said lines between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport and Reading had reopened.

Routes affected by the incident include the Elizabeth Line between Abbey Wood/Shenfield and Heathrow Airport/Reading. The Heathrow Express between Paddington and Heathrow Airport.

Great Western Railway services from Paddington have also been impacted by the disruption as passengers face delays from the station on routes heading west towards Bristol, Cardiff, and Cornwall.

National Rail has warned that passengers could face delays of up to 20 minutes following an incident earlier this evening. They said: "Lines have reopened following an earlier trespass incident at Ealing Broadway.

"As service recovers, trains between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport / Reading may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised. We anticipate major disruption will continue until 21:00."
