King Charles will be forced to foot another bill for his beleaguered younger brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, when he eventually relocates to the Sandringham Estate from Royal Lodge in Windsor. Although his next home will not be confirmed as Sandringham is a privately owned estate, it has been widely reported that Marsh Farm will be where the former Duke will move.

This emerged after a 'no-fly' order was extended to cover the home, which sits seven miles away from Sandringham House, near the village of Wolferton. While Andrew does not have to leave his current 30-room home until October 2026, his living situation will be supported by the King.

Andrew's move to Norfolk has come about after it emerged that he has been living in a Crown Estate property and only been paying a "peppercorn" sum of rent "if demanded".

With the King set to fund Andrew's lifestyle when he moves to the private estate, very few details will likely emerge. Speaking after the announcement of the former Duke being served his notice at Royal Lodge, GB News Royal Correspondent, Cameron Walker, explained why it was significant that Andrew was relocating to Norfolk.

"I think it's very telling that he's being moved to a property on the Sandringham estate, because that's owned privately by the Mountbatten Windsor family, which means no taxpayers are funding the property," Walker said.

"There's no public money whatsoever tied up in that property," he continued. "It is purely going to be funded by King Charles as the brother of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, so that is effectively as much as King Charles can do in that regard."

While very few details of Andrew's personal money are known, Andrew Lownie, author of the bombshell book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, told the Sunday Morning podcast: “In terms of Andrew, he had his naval pension, he had £250,000 a year when he was trade envoy, I think the Queen gave him £1million a year which is now gone but he has plenty of money."

Mr Lownie added: “He has been doing business deals for a long time now, about 30 years, with all sorts of regimes and characters so he is not short of a penny. I don’t think there is any worry about Andrew being able to afford his lifestyle."

It is believed that the disgraced royal will relocate to Marsh Farm once the necessary repairs have been completed.

It has been widely reported that the empty property will become Andrew's new home after new 'no-fly' regulations were extended to cover the property. Despite this, the palace has stated that it will not disclose the name of his new home, as the King’s brother is a “private citizen” and Sandringham is a “private estate”.

Andrew does not have to vacate Royal Lodge home until next year, but it has been reported that progress with the move is being made, as some of his items are now reportedly in storage.
