King Charles's longtime friend Ian Farquhar was found dead at home by a carer - and an inquest has now revealed his cause of death.

The 78-year-old huntsman, who also served as the Queen Mother's equerry, died from postural asphyxia on March 6, spelling heartbreak for the monarch.

Wiltshire Police confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Brigadier Andrew Parker Bowles, Queen Camilla's first husband, told Daily Mail diarist Richard Eden the situation was "very sad" and Mr Farquhar had been in poor health over the past few months.

In tribute, Mr Parker Bowles told the same publication Mr Farquhar was "as wild as a hawk" in his youth and "always great fun".

He added his friend, who was a renowned huntsman, would be considered by history as one of the great Masters of Hounds.
