Prince Harry has shared private information about a woman he once dated as his privacy case continues. The Duke of Sussex had named the woman in his witness statement, but did not include her identity in his recent memoir, Spare - reports the Daily Mail. Harry had dated the stockbroker's daughter, whose grandfather played polo with his grandfather Prince Philip, while at Eton. She eventually married a financier and former Army captain.

Harry alleges that she was targeted by a private detective, Gavin Burrows, who also intercepted her parents’ voicemail messages.

He complains about an article in The Mail on Sunday and says in his witness statement: "This article is about a then-new relationship between me and [the woman], including details about her visiting me at Eton, meeting up in private at Windsor and efforts to keep the relationship secret."

Harry claimed he was "conditioned to accept" the Royal Family's rule of "never complain, never explain".

This was also printed in the witness statement that Harry submitted before his civil claim was brought to court.

Harry claimed that he became "aware" that the had a claim to bring to the courts in 2018.

He said: "The institution was without a doubt withholding information from me for a long time about NGN's phone hacking.

"That has only become clear in recent years as I have pursued my own claim with different legal advice and representation."

The publisher denies all claims made against them.
