Britain is home to stunning beaches and magical forests. One place, however, perfectly combines them both - and people say they’re just “blown away” by it.

Newborough Beach on the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales is having a moment on TikTok with one video on the glorious stretch of coastline being viewed almost 350,000 times.

And those who have visited agree with Hannah - who shared the video from her account @postcardsbyhannah - who claimed: “I think I found the UK’s most beautiful beach”.

She added: “The best beach in the UK (in my opinion) is Newborough Beach on the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales.”

Many agree with her - including on travel review website Tripadvisor.

One said: “Beautiful forest and beach. The dunes were fascinating and so interesting to read about them on the information boards. So much space and tranquillity.

“And we saw a red squirrel, which we weren't expecting as it was quite late in the day.”

Another said: “This place blew us away. We parked in the car park before the beach and walked through the pine forest before reaching the idyllic beach. It is absolutely stunning.”

They added: “Wonderful, wonderful day.”

“Wow,” said another user. They added: “I had read about this before our visit to Anglesey and it didn't disappoint. The parking was really good, very clean toilets if needed!

“But the views and walks were stunning. The tide was on its way out so we were able to cross over to Llanddwyn, we did paddle over and the water was very refreshing! Gorgeous views everywhere.”

The beach hit the headlines earlier this year when the stretch suddenly transformed from sand into stone.

It was changed beyond recognition by Storm Isha and Storm Jocelyn which swept the sand from the shore and into a neighbouring car park.

NorthWalesLive reported that visitors to the area were advised that if they were “looking for the sand, it’s in the car park”.

In a statement following the transformation, a spokesperson for Natural Resources Wales (NRW) said: “We regularly monitor the accumulation of sand within the car park and remove it as it builds up.

“We cleared sand just before Christmas but unfortunately following the recent storms the sand has now accumulated again and we plan to remove this early next week.”
