A motorist in Cardiff was slapped with the charge for not having "clearly displayed a Valid Disabled Badge".

An enraged Briton has shared their story of their mother being fined £90 for parking in a disabled bay, despite appearing to have displayed a Blue Badge permitting them to park there.
Taking to the social media network Reddit, they wrote: "My Mam got ticketed for 'not clearly displaying a blue badge'. You can see mine in both photos."
The Reddit post, which has been 'upvoted' 2,500 times, shows a split-screen image of a Kia vehicle with what appears to be a Blue Badge on the dashboard.
According to the instructions from the Department of Transport: "You must display the badge on the dashboard or facia panel, where it can be clearly read through the front windscreen."

Detailing who a Blue Badge is for and what it covers, the government site said: "A Blue Badge will help you to park close to your destination, either as a passenger or driver.
"The badge is intended for on-street parking only.
"Off-street car parks, such as those provided by shopping centres, hospitals or supermarkets are covered by separate rules."

According to the letter posted on Reddit, in an extreme case, the creditor could hike the fine to £160, if it is unable to recover the money.
However, the driver claims they were informed that if they coughed up quickly, the £90 charge would fall to £50.
The letter stated: "A discounted charge of £50 applies if this Parking Charge Notice is paid within 14 days of the issued date."
