LOS ANGELES — A CT scan on Chris Taylor’s left foot on Tuesday revealed a fracture and he will likely be placed on the injured list.

Taylor suffered the injury when he fouled a ball off his foot during Saturday’s game against the San Diego Padres. He sat out Sunday’s game but started Monday against the Colorado Rockies, lasting six innings before coming out of the game.

Taylor described it as “a small fracture” and said he was surprised by the result of the scan because he didn’t feel a great deal of pain.

“Not what I was hoping, obviously,” he said on SportsNet LA. “Definitely a surprise to me, but it showed a small fracture there and it’s going to be a little longer than initially expected.”

How long Taylor will be sidelined is not known yet.

“We really haven’t even gotten to that point where we discussed a timeframe yet,” Taylor said. “Right now we’re taking it step by step and I don’t think we’ve put an exact date on when a possible return will be.”

Taylor’s injury should continue to open up playing time for Trayce Thompson and Jake Lamb in the outfield.

Meanwhile, closer Craig Kimbrel also went for a CT scan on his back and shoulder blade area. Kimbrel was hit by a line drive during the ninth inning of Sunday’s game.

“There was nothing that showed up on the X-ray. But we want to see if there’s something that could potentially show up on the CT scan,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said.

“He felt good yesterday in catch play. But with the X-ray, everything can’t be detected. So for us to check every box, make sure nothing shows up on a scan just to make sure we’re free and clear.”

Results of the CT scan have not been released by the Dodgers yet. Kimbrel was at the stadium before game time Tuesday and played catch in the outfield briefly.
