The body of a teenage lad has been discovered in woodland in a town in Cornwall.

Devon and Cornwall Police were called to the wooded area in Bude at approximately 4.25pm yesterday (Thursday, January 8).

Emergency services arrived on the scene and found a 15-year-old boy, who police confirmed was from the local area.

The lad was declared dead at the scene, and his family has been notified.

Police have stated that his death is not being treated as suspicious.

A report will be compiled for the coroner.

A representative for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We were called at around 4.25pm on Thursday, January 8, following a report of a concern for welfare for a male in a wooded area in Bude.
