Fire crews are tackling a huge fire at a recycling plant in Bristol this morning (March 22). The flames erupted from a recycling centre in Bedminster, on the southern side of the city.

The Hartcliffe Way plant is now besieged by a raging inferno, with firefighters dispatched from Bedminster fire station, reportedly just yards away. Other crews from neighbouring fire stations have also arrived.

According to BristolLive, flames can be seen from the main Hartcliffe Way and a huge plume of black smoke is rising up over South Bristol. The fire began shortly before 9.35am.

It's reported workers have been evacuated from the site as crews remain at the scene. Information regarding how the fire started is yet to be obtained.
