Speaking on the Daily Beast podcast, he added: "I don’t know how far he got with the plans. But I think he was very nervous before he died.
"It’s extraordinary and like a scene from The Day of the Jackal — but nothing about this saga is normal."
Speaking about recent claims that Sarah had emailed Epstein, he shared that the 66-year-old was "terrified" – which explained why she kept in touch with him.
He added: "She was worried about her safety and that of her daughters. Epstein mixed with some pretty nasty people, so the fear was real."

Speaking of Epstein, he revealed that the late sex offender, who died by suicide in 2019, became paranoid and later believed that the Firm would "kill him".
Concluding, he added: "Jeffrey became paranoid the Palace would kill him.
"If Jeffrey hadn’t died, Andrew and Fergie would have been murdered. They knew too much."
