Thousands of people took to Downdetector to report that X - formerly Twitter - was experiencing problems in the UK and the US.

Thousands took to the website Downdetector to note that X - formerly - was experiencing problems on Tuesday. 

However, the site appeared to be working for many others. X has not commented on any problems. 

Downdetector - which allows users to flag problems with other websites - saw a spike in users reporting problems with X around 2.30pm UK time with thousands reporting an issue. 

In the US, Downdetector reported an even larger spike. The issue seems to be affecting the browser version of the website with users unable to upload posts.
