Police are hunting three children - who could be as young as nine - over reports of criminal damage and an attack inside a supermarket.

Officers have released an appeal to speak to three youngsters about an incident in a Co-op in Southwater, West Sussex last week.

The trio are described as being between nine and 12 years of age.

The first is wearing a pink T-shirt and glasses, the second wearing a purple T-shirt, and the third  is wearing all black, Sussex Police said.

The force said: "We are appealing for information after police responded to reports of criminal damage and assault inside Co-op in Lintott Square, Southwater last Thursday (April 18) at around 5.30pm.

"Police would like to speak with three people seen in the image as it is believed they may be able to assist with enquiries."
