Nigel Farage has criticised a group of pro-Palestine protesters who disrupted the March of Living event at Auschwitz earlier this week.

Protesters gathered outside the site of the former concentration camp where thousands of people were gathered to remember the victims of the Holocaust.

Speaking about the incident on GB News Mr Farage slammed the protesters who had attempted to disrupt proceedings.

He said members of the public present had been present there to “remember the horrors of what happened at that factory of death during World War 2”.

Mr Farage added: “Pro-Palestinian protesters turn up outside Auschwitz, putting out leaflets and flying the Palestinian flag. Frankly, I think that this is completely and utterly sick.”

Alongside a service to remember all those lost during the Holocaust, there was also a march. Known as the March of the Living, it is a short three-kilometre walk from Auschwitz to Birkenau.

Following the incident, the International March of the Living released a statement condemning the protester's horrendous actions.

They said: “We marched today to give a voice to the six million victims of the Nazi’s industrial genocide of the Jewish people.”

The organisers added: “We marched with survivors of the Nazi atrocities as well as survivors of Hamas’s crimes and families of those still held in captivity.

“The half a dozen protesters who perversely saw this as an opportunity to voice hatred against Israel and the Jewish people serve as a timely reminder of the importance of Holocaust education and remembrance and of teaching the dangers of hatred and extremism.”

This year a large number of people took part in the March of the Living, one which was attended by Israeli citizens, families of those affected by Hamas terrorist attacks and Holocaust survivors.

The latest pro-Palestine protest comes at a time of rising tensions in the UK and around the world following Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7 and the subsequent war which has seen Israel enter Gaza.

Earlier this week, Israel struck Rafah in Gaza after ordering 100,000 people to leave the area as ceasefire talks continued.
