London Mayor Sadiq Khan was blasted by fellow candidates during a live TV debate tonight for "not taking responsibility" and saying it was "never his fault".
Mr Khan appeared tonight during a debate alongside fellow mayoral hopefuls Susan Hall from the Conservatives, Rob Blackie from the Liberal Democrats and Zoë Garbett from the Green Party
During a debate on the housing shortage for London, Conservative AM Susan Hall said Sadiq Khan "has been in charge for eight years and not enough has been built".
She added: "If you listen to him giving you the stats, he'll talk about starts, I've started this, I've started that, a start could be a hole in the ground. It's not a home, it hasn't got a front door, it hasn't got a roof, it isn't somewhere you can live."
Mr Khan responded that he had been building homes despite having a Conservative Government in Westminster.
But Ms Hall countered: "It's important that the Mayor of London doesn't blame everybody else for anything that goes wrong, we must never forget we've got a £21billion budget and therefore the Mayor of London should start taking responsibility.
"Because a leader takes responsibility and Sadiq Khan just blames everybody else if something goes wrong."
Ms Hall's comments were echoed by Mr Blackie who during a debate on public trust in policing in the capital said: "It's always somebody else's fault, isn't it? You've been in charge of the police for eight years."
