Meghan and Harry's sit down with Charles may spark apology from King, claims Piers Morgan

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle "shouldn't be using their titles", claims Piers Morgan.

Although no longer senior royals after stepping back from duties in 2020, the couple were stripped of using their HRH title by the Royal Family - but still occasionally go by their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles. When Harry's father Charles became King, the couple's two children became Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet of Sussex.

The Uncensored presenter, 59, discussed the royal couple's recent rebrand and suggested Charles should soon sit down with them about dropping the Sussex title, which could result in an apology from him, but as the King is currently "distracted" following his recent health woes Piers' claim is unlikely to take place.

"They shouldn't be using the titles of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex bestowed on them by the monarchy," he explained on The Megyn Kelly Show.

"I hope that King Charles - who is massively distracted by his illness - will at some stage have that conversation and say, 'You can't keep the titles. I'm sorry.'"

Piers added the pair should not be able to "trade on their titles" and drop the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The couple recently announced their latest business ventures including Meghan's lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, along with a new podcast that is in the works with Lemonada. In addition, she is an executive producer alongside her husband for his new Netflix polo show with titles and release dates set to be announced "in the coming months".

Meanwhile, Harry will travel to London to attend a ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games at St Paul’s Cathedral on May 8 at the same time the King is expected to be in London, raising hopes of a reunion.

The father and son met briefly when Harry returned to the UK in February following the King's cancer diagnosis.

The duke’s stay in London next week will be brief. Sources close to the royal family say that the meeting between Harry and the King, if it happens, will be short due to the King’s packed schedule, which includes a weekly audience with the Prime Minister and attending the season's first Buckingham Palace Garden Party

Earlier this week, Charles spoke to patients about the "shock" of hearing about his cancer diagnosis - as he returned to public engagements with a hospital visit.

When asked how he was feeling, he replied: "I'm all right, thanks. Not too bad," before adding, "It's always a bit of a shock isn't it, when they tell you."
