National Highways has warned drivers of long delays during rush hour after a "serious crash" has closed a section of UK's busiest motorway.

Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a "serious" crash on the UK's busiest motorway - causing travel delays in parts of Surrey during rush hour this morning.

An update on the National Highways website reads: "The M25 in Surrey is closed anti-clockwise between J6 (Godstone) and J5 (M26 link) due to a serious collision.

"All emergency services are working at the scene with Surrey police leading the response. Traffic Officers are assisting with strategic closures on the approach."

It is unknown whether there have been any serious injuries as a result of the crash.
