Two people were rescued after the yacht got into trouble off the Sussex coast.

The coastguard has launched a large operation this afternoon to rescue sailors from a yacht which crashed into UK coast.

Two people were rescued from the boat, which ran aground off the Sussex coast in Seaford at about 5.20am today (April 19). 

Rescue teams from Birling Gap and Newhaven were in attendance with officers from Sussex Police and UK Border Force.

Those rescued are not thought to have been injured.
