Halifax police charge 2 youths with 2nd-degree murder in teen's death

Two 14-year-olds have been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in relation to the homicide of Ahmad Al Marrach at a Halifax mall.

Two 14-year-olds have been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in relation to the homicide of Ahmad Al Marrach at a Halifax mall. 

According to a news release, Halifax Regional Police and RCMP arrested the two teenagers in Sackville on Wednesday night.

They are scheduled to appear in Halifax youth court Friday. 

The 16-year-old victim was found injured in a parking lot next to the Halifax Shopping Centre just before 5 p.m. Monday. Police said the teen was taken to hospital, where he died. 

Officers arrested two 16-year-olds shortly after a wounded Al Marrach was found in the parking lot. On Tuesday, police said those youths were later released without charges.
