GMB viewers rage 'let it go' over Prince Harry coverage as he jets to Nigeria with Meghan

Good Morning Britain fans have fumed over the continuing speculation about Prince Harry, as they begged: "Real news, please!" The former working royal arrived in Britain this week for a trip to promote the 10th anniversary of the tournament he co-founded, the Invictus Games.

Some were left stunned that he didn't meet his cancer-stricken father, despite the pair being just two miles away from each other earlier this week: as Harry supported wounded war veterans, King Charles was hosting a garden party at Buckingham Palace. However, Harry has already left the country to begin a 72-hour trip to Nigeria with wife Meghan, who recently revealed that 43 percent of her ancestry hails from the country.

The pair will be kicking off by visiting a school in the West African region - but for many GMB fans, it's out of sight, out of mind. "@GMB let it go, Harry’s moved on, the king’s moved on, low rate TV is stuck again, news please," one frustrated viewer wrote on Twitter.

"@GMB you are obsessed with the speculation!! No one knows what goes on behind closed doors," another agreed. "This country is in deep depression because of a failed government, food banks, poverty at all-time high and you think people are concerned because Harry never spoke to his Dad?" quizzed a third.

The morning show was branded "out of touch" with the average viewer, as they continued to highlight that Harry had left without reuniting with Charles. A post on GMB's Twitter page today had grimly announced: "Any hope of an end of the apparent 'Royal Rift' between Prince Harry seems to have faded.

"The Duke of Sussex left for Nigeria last night having failed to see either his brother or his father whilst in London."

According to People magazine, who dispatched a correspondent to join Harry and Meghan on their trip, they are beginning Friday morning with a school visit.

The publication reported that Harry will also be following up his UK support of wounded veterans by meeting injured servicemen in Nigeria too, chatting with them at a military hospital.

Harry and Meghan were reportedly invited to the country for these engagements by its highest-ranking military official on the Chief of Defence team.

Meghan is expected to co-host an event focusing on women in leadership with Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director General of the World Trade Organization.

The couple will then head to a basketball clinic with Giants of Africa on Sunday and join in with a polo fundraiser for Nigeria: Unconquered.

Meghan had revealed last year via her Archetypes podcast that she learnt of her ancestry via a genealogy test she took, and that although she doesn't yet know which tribe she originates from, she hopes to "explore" her history further.

The Duchess was slammed by Dan Wootton this week as his claim that she had ambitions to become the "Queen of Africa" was shot down by Meghan's supporters.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the palace clarified that Harry never had plans to meet with Charles during his brief UK visit, after reuniting with him in February following his cancer diagnosis.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
