The 6,000-tonne Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) Stirling Castle - which is said to "further safeguard the UK's minehunting capabilities" – was formally dedicated while docked at Forth Ports in Leith in Edinburgh on April 11.

As Prince Edward was welcomed by crew members and dignitaries on the ship, fans took to social media platform X, to comment on his likeness with his father, the late Prince Philip.

Royal fan, @crista_mariah wrote: "Gosh he looks like his father".

Commenting on the salute, another wrote "looks rather like his father, here". A third fan chiimed in: "I still think of Prince Philip."
